The shine is excellent, but that's not Petoskey stone. Looks like it might be favosite. Petoskey stones have much bigger hexagons, probably about three would fit in that plug. It's still really nice and probably shines up about the same as Petoskey stone.

Pair of 51mm Ocean Jasper plugs I cut today. I need to do a little touch-up on one, but they took one heck of a shine.
