Do you have any rules of thumb for determining how well a stone will polish? The reason I ask is that we're going to go collect some Salina wonderstone on Saturday, and I've read that wonderstone is too soft to polish, but I've also read that it can be polished to a soft, satin sheen. To make matters worse, I've been told that Salina wonderstone is harder than Vernon wonderstone, but not how hard it really is. Should I run some tests before hand, or just throw it in and see what comes out? Er, I mean have Anna throw it in.

well i searched around and most everything i saw did not looked polished but i saw some wrapped wonderstone cabs and it was hard to tell from the pictures if they were polished or not. says the hardness is from 1-3 and it looks like it is most often used for carving sculptures and i found a place that says they use a floor paste wax to polish it? here's the link: www.giancarlostone.com/wonderstone.htmlwww.atouchofafrica.net/sculptors_at_work.htmkim
