I know that obsidian can be tumble polished quite well, and glass is of the same hardness so it should do quite well. As soon as I work up some of the rainbow obsidian rough I have I'll be able to speak from experience, but I'm sure there are others here who already can.

well from what i see the ocean does a good job of tumbling broken bottles.. not clear anymore tho loosk like they have been sandblasted.... but with a tumbler you should be able to limit that ... but it does take the edge off and rounds the glass... just make sure you have something inside your barrel to ensure the glass tumbles... strips attached i mean

I look forward to hearing some relpies as we collect tumbled glass we find at the beaches. There are places by Monterey Calif that have the prettiest tumbled glass on the beaches but it is a long ways away. We have many peices of clored glass we would love to tumble too. Great question...thanks for thinking of it.

I imagine you have some real nice glass anyhow...but old ointment bottles... that nice blue glass... tumble em into a satin finnish or polish em into lil blue beads they look really cool. I smashed an old vase by accident once and tumbled it just for the heck of it... it was red... long shards look cool tumbled ( if they don't break) I might do some more... once my hemitite is done. ;D
