Hi all!
Got a surprise in the mail today. Bought an old used Scott Murray tumbler on ebay last week. The description didn't say much and the pictures showed a barrel sort of like a thumler "B". But pictures of the open barrel made it look king of small. When I opened the package and the barrel, it looked like about a 6 pounder. Then I wised up and turned it over! It opens from both ends, so it will hold 2 - 6lb. loads. The base is plenty rough looking, but it seems to run well. If anyone has any ideas on things like spare belts, let me know. Any search I've done only mentions newer, larger "Scott Murray's", like 20-40 lbs.
Thanks Eric

I looked up the listing on ebay. I thought that sounded familiar. From the pictures it looks like it might use a little V-belt. If it has any adjustment on the tension you shuld be able to find something close enough to fit. Try doing a search for V-belts. Have you tried contacting Scott-Murray to see if they have parts or could suggest alternative suppliers. Good luck. Looks like a workable tumbler for the price.

There are smaller 'V' belts in the vacuum cleaner section of Home Depot, or Lowes Hardware. I have a friend who uses one on his Chicago tumbler instead of the original rubber 'O' ring belt.
