Ok so these are Damascus fixed blade blanks I got on Amazon. The one on the left is self hounded Wild Horse Picture Jasper from the Owhyee Mountains of Oregon. The right one is Unakite that I traded with Rob/Jugglerguy last month. I love this stuff it saws and cuts so good! What do you think Rob!!! So here is the how to do it. First purchase knife blanks that have a handle shape that is easy to grind on the hard wheels. Next super glue your slabs together. Then use the knife blank to trace your preform. I made mine wider than the blank so they stick out on the bottom to give your hand a grip. Plus using a Loto to do them you know they ain't gonna fit perfect. Just be sure the top line fits exact and the bottom line stays in relationship to the handle shape. I tried to leave a 1/16 sticking out. Saw out the preform and grind it to exact shape you want with the 100 wheel. Grind a little off the outside edge to help prevent chipping and so the Loto will round the corners better. Throw it in the Loto for 25 hours in 220 grit. Then 48 hours in 500 grit. Then 48 hours in AO polish. This is Chucks recipe, I now skip the 1000 grit step. Next put it in the oven to separate it by gradually heating to 250 and gradually cooling. Be sure to leave in the oven cooling overnite to avoid cracking by cooling too fast. Use a razor blade tapped into the crack to separate. This is Woodsmans method. He advised me on this. I got all kinds of projects glued together! Take the razor blade and clean the super glue off the scale backs. Clean scales and knife blanks with acetone. Use a file to rough and scratch the knife blank so as to give the 330 epoxy glue something to help it stick to. Glue scales one at a time with 330 epoxy. Clamp it together with spring clamps to keep it from moving. Put under a 100 watt bulb to dry for a couple hours and leave it overnite. Let dry over nite and put other side scale on next day. Do not worry about getting 330 epoxy on the scales. Once dry it will not stick to a Loto shiny scale, just use the razor blade to gentle scrape it off. Oil blade so it doesn't rust and text pic to Chuck/Drummondislandrocks cause you are done!!!

Hey Jean I can't afford the data gb to post pics plus the Verizon signal times out on the cell phone. I only have a Samsung S5 cell phone for the internet!

I hear ya, Bill. My Samsung flip-phone is so old, it doesn't even have a camera in it! Truly a stupid phone, lol. But it does what I need, namely send and receive texts, and phone calls. Have AT&T internet service at home for everything else. And an old camera.
Thanks for the rest of the story on the knives. Stones look cool, but have always liked the Damascus steel. Think I like the self hounded picture stone best.

Those look great, Bill! Just think, just a month ago that unakite was minding its own business, bouncing around in Lake Superior, and now it's a cool looking knife.
