Its good for most things organic. Hence algae, dirt stains, etc are likely to wash away, but its less likely to work on mineralization and things like iron oxidation. I'm guessing wildly, because my wife doesn't let me do the laundry very often. Tom

It works ok for removing algae and as a degreaser. Doesn't work very well for iron stains. Its primary ingredient is Sodium Carbonate. Maybe I will buy some to add with the Dawn dish soap and water-soak my slabs in the bucket after I cut them..............

Did you ever try this? Was thinking about it for burnishing?

I use it sometimes for a presoak before Borax. The Oxy does a great job of loosening organic material on rocks.

I tried a little in the tumbler and that was a mistake putting it in a sealed container... thought what's a teaspoon;a baking soda volcano apparently.

Forgot what the chemical is but from what I recall it is supposed to form peroxide. So its use would be be rather limited on rock.
