1997 Super Bowl XXXI Halftime Show complete The Blues Brothers & James Brown & ZZTop I enjoyed that so much more than the crap they have been passing off as entertainment for the last 20 years or so. Edit to add - I just learned that "The Weeknd" would headline tomorrow's Super Bowl half time show. They just keep getting worse. I understand it will be rap, full of profanities, f-bombs, and the n word. link
Second edit - I just watched the entire half-time show online (after the fact), and must say I was totally wrong about how it would go. I actually liked it. The performer sang three or four songs, none of them rap, did not hear any of the sexist/racist lyrics I had seen of some of his songs. He has a great voice, the songs were good (although I couldn't make out all of the lyrics) and some stylin' moves. But I just didn't get what the bandaged heads on the extras was all about. I'll give it an 8 out of 10.

stephan A series of excellent concerts came through Columbia SC one summer during the early/mid seventies. Was able to see Johnny Winter one weekend and Edgar Winter on another weekend. Many other greats that summer and throughout the seventies.

Many other greats that summer and throughout the seventies. Sounds awesome. Too bad I was living in Germany at the time... and younger than 10.
