Ok, so I have really wanted this thing and I have gotten it. I had clear ideas of what to use it for, but I am wondering what else I can use it for. I have a bunch of tips and will mostly do texturing with it.... if I can get up the nerve to hit a finished piece with it!
Will you post ideas, pictures or links of some of the things you can do with this? (I already know you can use it to help set a stone.)
Thanks!

can that be used in conjunction with engraving tips? I am not sure that Foredom sells tips for engraving, specifically, but I think another company does.

Hi Tela
Although I have used mine one time for setting a stone (really helped with that one) all I use it for is different textures. Just go for it as its really pretty easy. Do you have the diamond pave tip for it? I have found that my favourite tip, it really gives a jewelled look to the metal. As for other uses I can't help you.

I guess I need to get the pave tip. It must be the one that I don't have. All I can say is thank goodness for cheap copper practice sheet!

Hi Tela,
Search Rio for:
Diamanté Pave Tip for Hammer Handpieces Item #: 117327 1 - 2$25.00
I think it's really worth the money, I really love the texture it raises. I practiced a bit then just went for it, but then I am a crazy Canuck.

It can be used for setting your stones and for burnishing in tight spaces. Keep the speed way down like three to five beats a second until you get use to controlling it. The power of the hit is also adjustable and makes a difference.

Hmmmm, interesting. I have used the reciprocating file holder handpiece for a flex shaft for die cutting at work, but never a hammer. Sounds like some research is in order.
