I'm using three tablespoons (heaped) so I'll see if that works. I plan to go 8 days and then just dispose of the stuff (with my schedule, my time is more valuable than my money). I'll let you know how it comes out.

I am with you Riverotter, when I first got my 3 lber I started using 3 Tablespoons, however, I kept finding grit in the bottom of the barrel when I would change to the next stage, so I dropped down to 2 Tablespoons and I haven't had that problem with the one batch that I am working on. I also don't recycle, because I just don't have the space to keep the numerous buckets needed to strain it or store it. I have two buckets one I do the first rinse in and the second one is the final rinse that I cover the rocks with water and scoop out the plastic pellets. Tami

I used 3 heaping tablespoons (so nice we can type that now!) in a six pound barrel for eight days of polishing. Worked fine except on a few chipped stones, and one that did not "take" at all. I also don't bother recycling...too much trouble for a few dollars or less.

I have found that 2 tablespoons of grit is sufficient for my 3 lb. Lortone. I started using 3 and when the rocks were rounded enough, I found almost a tablespoon of grit in the bottom of the barrel, and I thought what a waste so I have dropped it to the 2.
Tami
P.S. The last batch that I posted in the pics, I used 2 tablespoon in every stage.
