Been meaning to get a picture of this stuff for months. Yesterday I had to move it anyway so I grabbed the camera and took a few minutes to get a few pictures. These were found this past summer.
Forgot to put in anything for scale, but the seat slats on that old chair are about 3" wide. The rock weighs 11 pounds.
The reddish chert in there makes it a little unusual.
This smaller piece was sitting there as well.
That smaller piece is going to get an acid bath, I believe. See if I can dissolve the limestone and leave the chain coral.
They are one of a couple of possibilities of Halysites. I'll work on figuring that out this winter.
