I finished the cerium polish (BTW, who came up with the idea of using metal oxides for polish, especially iron? I can just hear Bob Newhart on a phone..."Let me get this straight. You want me to polish these stones with RUST?"). I just looked at about ten, I'll give them a good going over later. A couple have small unpolished spots, and some I guess could have used a bit more polishing, and one has a bad chip. They are about what I hoped for my first batch, not nearly what I feared. Too bad I don't have a digital camera. Any comments?

Maz- Your ref to Bob Newhart is just TOO funny! ;D ;D ;D
What was in your first finished load, and were you happy with any of the stones?

Tell us about the pretty ones and let us use our imagination. Didn't you say you were running some flint?
PS I wasnt proud of my first OR second batch. But I do have them in a bowl on my coffee table. I love the way they feel in my hand. I even keep a piece of the white marble in my purse as a "worry stone".
Good luck!

Cookie, that's amazing! I also love the feel of the tumbled stones. I kinda thought that I might be a tad wierd or something because they just feel so good in my hand!
UH-OH! Must be another symptom of that dreaded *'ROTB' Disease!

Actually, I was mostly flint, some agate. FINALLY got a chance to look closer. What is believe is the blue flint came out so dark blue it was almost black. There were also many stones with what looked like patterns of paint on them (I think these were the Ohio Flint?) and some that were almost transparent, of an orange color (maybe the agate?). One looked like it had hardly been polished at all, I'll have to ask Dave how that one came about. I hope to go over them with my aunt and then see Dave soon. But most, of all sizes, were beautiful. How much does a digital camera cost now?

My ex-cousin-in-law recently got a look at my stones. He said they were beautiful. He also asked a lot of questions I never would have imagined ("Can you do boulders? Do you do one at a time?") so I had a chance to do a little teaching. I can't wait for my uncle to see them!
