Morning everyone Last night I got to try two new things, sweat soldering 2 pieces of metal together and doing a flush setting. I used 2 mm CZ from Rio, these were the premium ones but still very inexpensive. I did not have thick enough copper so I had to sweat solder together 2 pieces of copper together. This was a first for me and went well. Then I did the flush setting and all in all for the very first time I think it went ok. I had to make my own burnisher and I used a broken burr and shaped rounded and polished on my hard diamond end wheels on the Cab King. I only took it to 600 and think I should have went to 1200 and maybe tried to make it a touch more rounded on the end. I also think that I should have set the stone just a wee bit deeper in the metal. I think that would have made the burnishing better and with less chance of slipping. And its easy to slip:) I watched lots of YouTube and read plenty of articles, Soham Harrison was IMHO the best, I really like his stuff and he has a touch of very subtle humor. The picture is from my iphone taken in my shop so not the best, the copper actually looks like copper. It is roughly polished and is not square, that was not my intention. I will likely try setting a few more in the same piece today. Thanks for looking

Fun trying new things. Soham is the best!
Now I am going to have to try the flush setting! I have a use for it.
Thanks for showing. Could you get a closer photo?

Thanks for sharing, Tom. I want to try that, too. I've seen lots of videos, but I haven't had the nerve, yet.
