Say you are going on a rock collecting trip and need to carry a large amount of rocks home. Or the rocks are too heavy and you want to ship them motor freight. Collecting your rocks daily and unloading them daily in one of these bags sitting at a freight company dock. Let them handle the logistics of getting the rocks to you. You can pick them up at your destination dock in a pick up truck. Have the bag 'held at dock' and they will set it in your truck. 1000 pound bags at Home Depot for $40. Holds almost as much as two 55 gallon drums. A 2000 pound bag is better so as to have a single pallet therefore reducing costs. I believe a 3000 pound bag will fit on one pallet but you best have a heavy duty pick up truck to pick them up. Or a 1000 pound bag in the back of the pick up truck and drive it home. at least the rocks will be piled more vertical and placed center of truck. This one a 3000 pound bag:

That's quite a tote bag! Do they use a crane to lift it? It looks padded, too, so your rocks will have a soft landing.

They often stick one of the forks of the fork lift thru the handles and lift it Pat. The 1000 pound bag at Home Depot makes a great feaf and trash collection bag. I worry that my wife may try to use it as a shopping bag

Hey, wait a minute. We're about the same age so don't be.... Uh, ok...worn out ole man.<sigh> BUT...knowing you, you'll rig up some type of hoist that runs off four AA batteries and weighs five pounds that will lift the 1k pond bag. (Eight AA's for the 2k pound bag.)

James, are you an engineer of sorts? From what I've gathered... you're crafty. Crafty's nice.

Pile that stuff on the back 40 and sell MFRB's for years to come. Lot's of work up front, kick back and reel in the money after. 2200 X 12 bags X $2/# = +$50,000, oops 2200 X 20 bags = $88,000 You could hire labor to collect it and sit back and cherry pick. Some folks have all the fun.

I would limit 2000 lbs per pallet. And a darn strong pallet at that weight.

Yes, crafty fits James pretty good. Oh, and thanks for the compliment on the avatar...I thought it might be too subtle and that you might not notice it. PETA threatened protests saying it was cruelty to animals so I had to change it.

Well, by golly, crafty is great. I don't have an ounce of craftiness in my body. If something needs built or fixed, I'm not the man for that job. However, I'll break my back to help anyone get rocks.
