As seeing another thread on tumbling fossils(If they should or not),I thought I would throw a couple Baculites in the tumbler,to see what happens with them... Had a tumbler going to prepolish so put them in that batch of tumbles... (against my better judgement)..LOL

well then they should look better in a bit. Are they pretty hard or do they have a slate/shale/mud interior? I have an ammonite that my brother found at some construction site at my home town of Moose Jaw in about 1958. Its 100% agatized I will post a picture of it. I inherited it after he passed.

The interior's of baculites (most),are totally off the chart cool!!!!!! Will post the photos of some,when I get on my desk top computer..........I cut as many as I leave whole..........

It was baculites that was the first fossil that ever caught my eye. Highly polished. Gold-brown with gold sutures. Still love it.

The mud is easy to ID in the cuts...Don't find many with mud......

This will be interesting to see how they come out! Have you ever used a vibe with fossils? If so, how did it work?
