My friend is in from Canada so we tried to get out to our mining spot where I get the red selenite crystals. Apparently a flash flood came through and screwed up our route. Still ended up with some great stuff. Got a lot of other selenite crystals running from clear, to yellowish and even a color I have never seen before in selenite. Root beer colored. Picked up some nice pieces of garnet amphibolite including the 75 pounder in the center, garnet gneiss and garnet in quartz:  Also came across the nice piece of blue quartz.  |

Hey,those are NICE!!! SCORE!! Thanks. I love the amphibolite so I was hoping to find more and did. Here is the last garnet amphibolite I slabbed.  Been working on a few cabs of the stuff but have not quite got them done. Still practicing on getting smooth surfaces and a nice shine on stones. |

Thanks everyone. I was hoping to get the 75 pounder cut tonight but I went down to the gem club and the big saw was broken. So maybe next week.
