I have this thing at the house that is suppose to be some sort of wind catcher, though I've never had it hung up. You are suppose to bend the metal rings out, forming a sphere and then the thing spins around and usually showcases some design on the central part. I just like the way the metal looks with the rust and patina, kinda industrial or mechanical, or whatever. (cont.)
I've also seen people make suncatchers out of thin agate slices. I don't have a photo handy, but imagine. My thought was to combine the two and harness both the wind and the sun in one metal/stone Frankenstein like creation. I don't have any metal crafting skills of my own that I am aware of, so I'd have to start with something that exists already and work from there. There are some genius people on here building amazing contraptions, so this seems like kindergarten craft project time. To be fair, though, my projects normally involve my two young assistants. Has anyone seen this done?
