At some point, the wife unit asks if there are new puppy pictures every day after she gets home from work. yes... I still pack her off to work 5 mornings a week - otherwise, she would have too much spare time to come up with more *stuff* for me to do.

That's a pile of puppy beauty, better than any cab or tumble I ever saw!!! Pups staying within 20% of each other's weight, no runts or unhealthy ones. Most consistent litter ever. Big strong 3 year Mama probably helping.

So good to hear that everything is working out with them thar pups! Soon mom will be tiring of them, and try to pawn them off on any visitors.
"Hey, lady ya wanna take one of these puppies off my teats hands?? Maybe two, they're small." Lol.
I know you always grumble that they are a pain in the ass, jamesp, but we all know you love having them around. Otherwise, life would be boring...

They are now growling and barking. Mama is perplexed at the aggressive sounds, almost frightened. She is not a conflictive dog at all. She does not approve of their quarrels. When they are older she will warn them by clamping down on their heads gently with her jaws. She has a real problem with flies. She will step on them chasing flies. She will start to dislike them when they start cutting teeth. Teeth + teats will do it every time.

Don't know if you plan on keeping any, but a good...no, great book for training is "How to be your dogs best friend." A must. All common sense but you just don't think about it. Written by the monks in the Catskills mnts. National know for there German shepards. The most important part I remember is, DONT yell at your dog. They can hear you if you whisper and it's easier on you.

I don't think it did any good lol.

Yelling at the dogs may be counterproductive, but it makes one feel better to let them have it! Bad news when BIG DOGS are counter surfers. My sister's big dog has gotten entire chickens, steaks, lb of butter off the counter. Who left the sack of flour within reach? Who cleaned it up? jamesp, which dog do you think was the ringleader? What I wouldn't give to see a video of those dogs getting that flour sack from the counter to the couch, lol. Bet they wuz having a grand ol' time!

Ha, the couch was covered otherwise they would have been hanging in the smoke house. Ring leader was Maggot, that is a given. Thought she got broken from that habit-rat trap with cheese sitting on the counter got her on the nose. That usually breaks them. Wish a video was set, would have been a riot to watch. Took a long time to clean up, flour changes to glue when wet. They tracked it all over the first floor of the house. what can ya say ?

My opinion when they got the bag of flour on the couch.. Well, they get mean eyes and they have to go somewhere and sit by themselve for 10 minutes then you have to forget it. Play ball or whatever and leave it go. Hard to do sometimes but they understand mean eyes. That's just what the book says and it works for me and my 2 dogs. But ... It's hard to do.

Guilt all over their face lol. They would have done it again 10 minutes later. These dogs are spoiled rotten.

This is a fun thread! I really liked the RRBs I've met and how can you not melt at the sight of puppies! Thanks for taking the time to share the joy.

Much muscle development is done when twitching during sleep. Sleep and workout at same time, must be nice. Back door was open allowing semi-cool breeze, so the pile.
