I have a lot of turquoise, more than I can cab in my lifetime. So I have been playing around with cabbing some of it, am gong to put some up for sale and I would like primarily to find some silversmiths who would like to trade making some silver jewelry for some of the turquoise.
This is rare, naturally hard turquoise. Cabs can sell easily for $5-8 per carat. Less than 10% of turquoise is naturally hard and does not require stabilization, which is why it is so valuable.
I also have some larger pieces of pure semi-hard blue turquoise and some very large chunks of multicolored and disseminated turquoise that would be great for carvings.
PM me if you are interested.
Thanks.

I was a gold/silver smith for five years in my youth. Have been considering working a little silver and turquoise to supplement my pension. Don't have the tools I need yet but would like to keep in contact. Might also be interested in buying some of the less pricey turquoise (not chalk).

I have some pieces I have stabilized with sodium silicate instead of epoxy. Those are the least expensive I have for solid turquoise. I have a lot of disseminated turquoise that is also less expensive. Will be slabbing some of that soon now that I finally got a new blade for my saw. A lot of it is bluish-green to green due to the substitution of iron for some of the aluminum in the turquoise. This is very common with a lot of Nevada turquoise. I also have a box of smaller pieces from the Bluebell mine in Southern California.

Would be interested in the box of small pieces, sounds like a good place for me to start.

Photos of what you have? Former silversmith, specializing in AZ turquoise, specifically Sleeping Beauty. Where did your material come from, ie specify in photos? Working at purchasing the needed equipment to get back into silversmithing.

Just got back from the mine with another load. Been a really long day and I am about to fall asleep at the computer so I will check the messages everyone has sent tomorrow.

vegasjames Do you have a chunk of blue material that would make a sphere greater than 2"? I have very little in blue since a lot of the Nevada turquoise tends to be blue-green to greenish from the substitution of some of the aluminum in the turquoise with iron. Most of the blue I have is a lower quality chalk. The largest is a 71 pound chunk. Let me go through some of the turquoise and see what I have for larger chunks. I do have some larger colorful chunks.
