I've been slabbing everyday since I got the saw set up in my rock room. These are from the past week or two. Let me know what they are if you know and correct me if my id is wrong. I have a few slabs of each and more stuff in the oil-dry, soapy water and laying on my counter that I still need to photograph. I really need to get on with the cabbing. Thanks for looking Andrea Rio from Sabre52Another Rio from Sabre52From broseph82Sagenite I think this is George West pet wood from Sabre52Polka dot Agate Birdseye Rhyolite from broseph82Rio from Sabre52Really like this but it's very brittle, it broke into several pieces. Rio from Mel I was told this was coprolite....is it? Love this one...some sort of pet wood I bought this because I thought it was Calico Lace Agate...but it looks like it's four different things. Graveyard plume George West pet wood from Mel George West pet wood from Sabre52Another George West George West again Montana agate from Wendy I think this is palm root

Welcome to slaboholism! It's an addiction that as far as I can tell is incurable! Love those Rio slices in the second photo! Larry C.

The palm root and fiber were one slab but broke. A couple of them broke in the same spot. Good to know what they are. Thanks! Andrea

Andrea, those are very nice! Yeah, slabbing rough is the grown-up version of opening the presents under the Christmas tree :-)
That one you said is "very brittle" is Noreena Jasper I believe.
Thanks for sharing.

Noreena'like material too? I'm no expert, but I am very careful with fractured so as to protect my $500 blade. I won't even cut some stuff. Like Arizona rainbow wood for instance.

Nice cuts, Andrea! I've got some of the same Rio's and George West. Can't wait to cut them.

What someone called Noreena looks like Cherry Creek, from China, to me. Love that Lace!

What a nice bunch of slabs! Awesome material, Andrea! Thanks, Mel, for sending her all that great Texas stuff.
(Did you ever think your rock shop was ever going to get finished? Your reward for being so patient! Has your husband had cars in his side yet? Good thing you have walls to divide it into his and hers. In my experience, husbands will always try to push the wife out of the garage, and move into her space, lol. Be careful he is not "temporarily storing" stuff on your side! The only thing I can have in the garage is my washer and dryer! And those would have been moved out a long time ago if there had been space elsewhere where they could have been hooked up and used...)
