Looks fantastic but who knows Bob?. The orb types are the hardest to call. I cut one yesterday with huge 1/4 inch red and yellow orbs on all the exterior and inside it was just mostly plain old Tiger tail Jasper. Another looked to be solid orbs and inside, not well defined at all. I have one slab with really nice orbs inside and none at all outside. Often external orbs turn out to just be mossy or plumy inside. Easiest thing is just cut the dang thing and quit your dang teasing Bob *L*.
You guys got me so excited I cut all day yesterday. Would have cut all day today too but the wife had me working on the wellhouse and hauling brush. Will post pics as soon as the oil dries off the new slabs. Need to get me a new sack of kitty litter for my drying bin..Mel

Dealt with tumblers today, lost good lighting for cut rocks pictures - tomorrow on that. To hold ya over, here are a few rocks from our Zapata trip that I tossed in barrels that I already had running loads. These have been in the tumblers for about 2 weeks. Again, Mother Nature had already done the shaping for me. Still on coarse grit, but pretty much ready to move on. I've got a boat load of these Mother Nature shaped rocks to run as I get around to them. Most of the rocks I cut yesterday are just faced. They will run as whole big rocks as well. Wife decided the guest room needed to be a different color this weekend *sigh* messed up my weekend. Shipping her back off to work tomorrow - rock time for me! More pics soon. ETA: Took lots of pics today of my barrel of Rio agates from Mel and some of another barrel I have running of Stone Canyon. Will post those soon as well.

Now, to think of how to display.

Thanks Scott. I just need to find/make time to load more tumbler barrels. Some of the Rios may have to wait until I get around to making my saw blade grinder, but many are good to tumble as I found them. Hope y'all don't get tired of Rio agate pictures, 'cuz there are MANY more coming!

Three more woods. Nothing spectacular other than being super solid. Oops, this one did not like my hammer, split in half instead of windowing. With the grain: cross grain, less attractive ? Heavy replacement, filled fractured rocks common with wood skin. Similar to this. mysterious Ok, this one sawn 3 ways, left-quarter sawn, middle is tangentially sawn, and right is cross cut. 5 pounder tangentially sawn

Hundreds of rocks with unmistakable wood skin with no wood pattern internally, but sealed fractures like one on left. Most wouldn't window with out shattering so I left them.

Got a big pile of wood windows that were removed from wood. The windows are telling since you see the inside and the skin on a small chip. To be saved for reference for next trip and photographed for future reference.
Actually saved all windows in moss/plume, jasper and wood. The wood is the trickiest though. So it will be scrutinized.
Put my three Florida properties on the market. Hoping to sell them and move camp to Zapata Texas. Should be way cheaper with lower taxes. Zapata very depressed due to foreign oil purchases. Lots of vacant property. Liberal building codes, perfect. Put a rock saw and a boat there. Burn mesquite for heat. Buy bottled water, the water sucks there. One deer lease purchase on one of those mega ranches would provide a spot to rock hunt for a life time singlehandedly.

How about starting a rockhounder's consortium ? Consortium ? What do you mean Mark ? Like a cooperative. You get a master lease and sublease it many times to all of us and others...... Everyone wins...
