Consortium ? What do you mean Mark ? Like a cooperative. You get a master lease and sublease it many times to all of us and others...... Everyone wins... Plenty of space with rocks on ranches out that way. Plenty of hunt leases. The rancher could do 2 leases per year. Rock and then deer season. Rock guys would get over 3/4 of the year.

okay, gonna give this a go using photobucket Did some cutting on Saturday of a few of the rocks I brought home from Zapata and thought some of y'all might enjoy seeing some of them. Wet when possible - This was a rather unremarkable rock, not the Rio Grande agates that jamesp and I went there for. But as you will see, that didn't stop me from bringing home a bunch of rocks that just struck my fancy at the time. the other side was better and why it interested me and here with a slant face cut to show more of the "guts" this photobucket thing is slow as all get out compared to what I'm used to doing - standby while I figure out what I'm doing wrong

An even more unremarkable rock. I have a LOT of them, but have a feeling that it will turn out okay another view face cut Is this wood Jim? I dunno... Something more along the lines of what I was supposed to be picking up different view faced with maybe hematite in it? next cut another ugly rock different angle and cut this is this last one for this post and cut lots more coming

Brought home this loaf because when I knocked the tip off there seemed to be some interesting insides other side end shot and cut A decent sized piece. Still pretty plain looking skin fairly common yellow(ish) moss. I didn't bring home many yellows. Not because I don't like them (I do!) just they are harder to read without windowing the rock, than other colors. Tried to leave rocks intact when possible. messed up above - this rock is this one and one more for this post decent sized piece here is this faced - seems I cut some of the white off (poor pic)

This Mel? At the lower left? If so, that is the end cut from the above poppy. Totally cloudy here today, so lighting wasn't the best for pictures.

You getting much smoke in your area? How's the weather in Texas?
I remember some of the rocks and which spot they came from, but don't recall the poppy location.

Smoke really hit today. Was barely noticeable till today. Hate to see the beautiful Appalachians burning. Maybe it is a nature thing. Must say, it is nothing like the smoke experienced in the Florida fires, not here anyway. Driest November in many years.
Location of a rock down there seems to be a flip of the coin. Never know what will be where.
