Ever since we started planning our garage/rock room I knew I would need a sink. We didn't want a mess like I have now so this is what we came up with. Old area New area right outside my rock room. Since I can't wash slurry down the drain there was no point in putting it inside. We attached a hose to the drain so that the water goes into the yard. Right now the hose is too short but I will get a longer one. When I'm done I can put any buckets inside and close it up. Andrea

Nice, but that would only work for about five months in Michigan. Lucky you being able to wash rocks outside year round,

I forgot to show you my hot water heater for when I need to wash oily slabs in hot soapy water.....lol. Notice the hummingbird watching me through the window. He's noticing me getting closer.

I'd make sure that drain discharge gets to an area underground or where there is no foot traffic. You don't want to track grit or rock ***t onto the family dining room carpet (at least my spouse wouldn't allow it). I collect such drain water in a bucket and it gets poured onto the most needy plant at hand.
