I have a fairly new (less than a year old) 12 lb Lortone tumbler model and seem to be having drive belt probs. The unit stopped turning, but the motor and shaft were turning. I had the tumbler approx 1/2 - 3/4 full, and took some of the rocks out so my load wasn't too much. I have adjusted the drive belt all the way out and there still seems to be noticeable slack in the belt. It's working now, but I'm concerned if this is going to be an ongoing problem. Anyone else having this prob? Or any suggestions?

I had to remove the housing on my 3 lb lortone tumbler because the motor ran hot enough to soften the belt, ever since then I haven't had it stop yet, now I can usually tell when it is slightly out of alignment because there will be a flapping sound, but I usually take care of that by putting something under one of the corners.

I was at a friend's house - brand new 3a and the belt kept coming off. Motor running really hot too.
We noticed that the alignment between flywheel and motor was way off and used an allen wrench to adjust the flywheel out a bit. Seems to be staying on now.
I'm curious if anyone else has noticed there motor runs too hot? On my unit, I can place my hand on the cover and leave it there - it's pleasantly warm. On my friends, it's too hot to do this.

Mine ran really hot, to the point that it was making the belt slip off. I removed the housing and haven't had any more problems with my Lortone 3A
