Mel...
Should Certifiable and Rocklicker be on separate lines?
< font = curious >
ETA: I hope she (wife unit) can find a dignified distinction between morning and celebrating. meh... guess it won't matter to me. Leaving her to deal with a rock collection that would get her on that Strange Inheritance TV show makes life worth living.

Here's my modest faceting work station. Not pictured is the garage corner with 6 milk crates and boxes of rock, my little trim saw, and the long-defunct Craiglist cab fairy ("Pixie" knockoff). It's in a corner of my bedroom, with a sheet pinned up to prevent splash on the walls and a garbage can for sedimenting my swarf. Facet rough is compact, luckily, and fits in the drawers with PLENTY of room to spare...for now. Also features a laptop stand for watching netflix with the beau while I cut rocks and he woodworks, and my binder of faceting diagrams and notebook.

Captbob, It just occurred to me that you need to keep your stockpile high-graded, I don't need to haul any more erosion control rocks home as I have more than enough of that already!!
I notice that the anticipation of Beer-thirty has all kinds of ideas popping into my head. Probably better than the ones after Beer-thirty.

Mr. Henry, I don't have room for crap rocks. May have a hundred or so pounds of stuff that I would throw out in the yard if I took the time to dig for it. But out of tons of rock that's too small of a percentage to worry over. Not worth the digging/sorting to me.
I'll let my wife deal with it! *snicker* She says that she will just sell everything for $5 a rock - to get a rise out of me. Told her I wouldn't care at that point, do as she wishes.
Rest easy that the pile was high graded as it grew.
I really ought to do pictures someday, but I'm too lazy busy.

This is how you turn your small rock shop back into a woodworking shop for a few hours Screw acrylic or container lids for saw hoods!!! I'm going back old school with wood and giving it a good coat of sealant! Well built, nice lines and sturdy! Where's a welder when you need one 😂😂

OK, I think you beat me in the small corner business. But, what works, works.

Everything is bigger in Texas. (Henry). Those flats of rocks increases the R-value of that wall's insulation from R-19 to R-190. Total justification.
Please do not mention things that 'are not' in my wife's lamp shop or else they will soon be added. Such mentions would be the ultimate blackmail. Living in hotel rooms is heaven. The exact opposite of a hoarder's space, open and organized. Next life will marry a Quaker.

Why don't you give that a try?

See once you teach me to weld I can do that too! Plus with our cell phone tower business I get all the thick steel and pure copper wire I could ever use!!! My newest shop adds: bought this on eBay (I think I owe captbob a thank you for that. It also came with the light and magnifying glass (the older model) The above is my new saw hood. I still have to attach the front acrylic panel that will be attached with hinges.
