Accessible by small specialty boat. Sometimes long trips to get to the best at low river levels. Main target was botryoidal material. Had my fishing partner go too. Bumped into coral pirates Mark and Kevin. Withlacoochee River from Nankin Bridge an all the way into Florida, about a 25 mile stretch. www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/19089779489/in/album-72157679339959800/

Killer bots. Looks like an awesome trip. Some really nice photos in that set. Chuck Wish I could take some northern blood down w/me. I know you guys have had enough winter, maybe the warm weather photos will warm you up a bit. That is a tricky trip to coordinate. Rent a hotel for 3 days and down comes a summer storm and ruins the trip due to high water.

The dirt pig ( ground hog ) says we only have another couple weeks of winter . Would love to just float that river this time of year , nice looking area . Beautiful material you found there .

When that dirt pig says it's OK just come on down wigglinrocks. It would be a rush man.

Wow, that is some crazy, beautiful stuff It's everywhere Dave. My P/U holds 1500 pounds. 3 night trip usually satisfies said limitation. Shoals, location in bank height, closeness to center of river, clay variations, location along river, micro pockets, springs, old wetland weeps, and many other things effect color of coral. And it's range is 200 miles entering a whole new set of variables. Even at that, only about 2% of it has higher grade color and patterns.

After collecting coral on the Withlacoochee and Suwannee River for several years I finally figured out what the large underwater reflections were.

Holy Hell, that'll knock ya outta the saddle. Must look like a submarine underwater, I'd like to see it airborne.
