I spent a couple weeks learning now to make some simple settings for faceted stones. Here's some pics. Don cool settings and stones but that wafer board is the BEST. I made that s%$t for 18 years...............................MrP

It looks like the red was open backed and the green was closed back. Was there a reason for that? I would think all cut stones would need an open back. Not to knock your work, it looks great!

They're both closed backs. I'd need to engineer a new ring band to do them open backed. Didn't want to complicate them more than necessary. The inside of the setting is polished to mirror the light through the stone. The ruby is not translucent at all, so on this one the closed back doesn't make a difference.
