I have a beard and am looking to improve my dust protection. I was fairly set on purchasing a 3M 6900 full face mask, but then found this product while searching the interweb: RESP-O-RATOR. I am curious if anyone has tried it out? Thanks for your time....Cheers

A respirator is essential equipment. If you have a beard and that stops them working you need to think outside the box. This looks to be a good piece of kit: the air intake looks to be at the rear, which is good if you are facing a dusty working environment, but note that fine dusts go 'global' in any room you are cutting in. The downward pointing exhaust is good too. Keeping things wet and adding outside ventilation can help as well, but whatever you do, don't breathe dust. They're all dangerous and some are poisonous to boot...

No, I have not. I have used 'escape respirators' that have a clip for your nose. I find the clip rather uncomfortable.

I have not used it - I have seen it on Amazon if anyone wants to purchase it under our affiliate link - just use the search bar below the forum I don't think I could wear the nose clip though...

Replacement filters at $15 seems reasonable

I bought one (yes Tommy I used the RTH Amazon link...) it arrived as expected, fit and finish is fine. I have not yet tried it out in action with my bull wheel but it fits pretty nice. Per others comments, I am not a big fan of the nose plug but I am willing to deal with it - I am not giving up dry sanding as a lapidary technique for specimens and I am not shaving my beard. I may find an alternate nose plug that is more comfortable, but the stock one is fine for now. Anyways I will give this a tentative thumbs up, more to follow after testing it on my next batch for sanding. Cheers
