Haha funny you ask... I just asked the same question about similar rough I found in Utah. I think we all agree it's in the serpentine group. I'll try and post the thread discussion.

My contribution to the thread. Not hijacking...just piggybacking. Happened to find this along highway 49 in CA. Interestingly, Sabre52 used to go to the same spot where this was found. Just thought I'd throw in a photo of a different looking variety in the event someone comes across this thread to ID. Not the good stuff according to Mel. Dave
