A friend gave this stone to my son, he brought it to me and told me that there are pickup loads available. All we would have to do is pick it up. I do not have a clue what sizes are in the pile but I am sure going to figure it out. I have picked up rock in Wyoming that is exactly the same green but it has mica in it which would make it aventurine but this stone has no glitter in it that I could see. It looks like green quartz but I am not a quartz expert. This is my favorite green so I hope there is some useful pieces in the pile. Son was in a hurry so I just did a quick polish on two sides. It has been a while since I polished any quartz but this seemed to polish easier than the quartz I polished before. Just did a 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and easy shine at 3000. P6280015: P6280012: P6280011: P6280010: Any guesses or positives from the brainiacs would be greatly appreciated. Jim

I like it and suggest you sell sfrb here of what you don't want. I'd buy a box! Very pretty green.

I certainly can't tell any difference between the two. Thanks for the heads up. Pat you will be the first to know. I have ten small boxes of other stones that I want to use in a sell/give away lottery but have not gotten around to posting them yet. Gotta lighten my load and at the same time I am talking about pickup loads. I assumed I could get past this addiction but I don't think I have assumed correctly ever. Jim

I received more of the stones but they came with bad news. When the friend went back the pile of stones was gone except for maybe a five gallon bucket full scattered around on the ground. Good news is that some of the stones are much darker. I am going to attempt another photo post from rock show to here. Sounds like a recent upgrade has made it much easier. Pat I am a little short of a full box but I should have more in a day or two. P6280015: P6280012: P6280011: P6280010: Holy Moly if this works it is extremely fast and easy. Jim

Looks like green quartzite to me. Back in the 70s I used to have access to a source of peach colored quartize with similar texture and translucency. Cut and polished well. The source was on the edge of town around an area where there were a lot of natural springs and a natural pond. But a federal housing project was built near by so for safety concerns they hauled in dirt and filled in the pond and springs and buried the whole area.
