Was reading a post about a local(ish) spot to go find some cool rocks, I have zero experience but I think this is something my son and I could get involved with...which is why I registered with the site, glad to be here and learn. I am a 30 y.o. guy, married, from central Cali, Afghan vet, travelled a bit in my time, any questions, feel free to ask!

Welcome to the forum and a big Howdy from Colorado. Thank you for your service !!! Ducked the golden bb. good deal. Several other dad son rockhounds here. Join a local rock club very first thing. Learn a lot, go to productive areas, use club equipment and some time 2-3 day trips hunting for really exotic stuff.

WArm welcome from Wisconsin. My Son in Law was in Afghanistan twice. Long time National Guard. Also took all Geology courses offered in college to go with his Engineering Degree. He has been a great help for my local finds. Many of my ancestors were Military, so I want to thank you for your Service. This is a great place to learn. Any questions about any finds, where to look, etc. Just ask. Soon you will have so much knowledge.
