My cousin Gene said he had a gift for me,when we were in Montana... His dad Willis,my Uncle was one of the three Uncles that were my mentors with rocks,fossils and minerals.. Gene gave this artifact,that his Dad gave him... Gene thought it would be better for me to have it (He isn't into rocks).. Now I have something from every (Three) Uncle that will be cherished,hopefully down to my grandchild.. Its heavy and huge,so a buddy and I think its a weight for fish netting... What are your opinions?? If it's a club,that Indian had one heck of an arm!!! LOL 
Its flat on one side........

I'd say it probably depends on where it was found. Could be a hammerstone, although it does look awfully big. If I found that in MN I'd probably lean more towards a net weight, but I'm purely guessing.

I agree with the axe. I had a similar one that was ID'd as such. Only difference was that there was a groove all the way around. Could this be an unfinished project?

I suspect that is the head of a Maul, not an Ax. Probably used to knock Spalls from a large boulder.
It would be nice to see the wear marks on the two faces.

A spalling tool,I could see that,with this guy... The Grove doesn't go all the way around either.
It's about an inch gap on each side,from each groove .

Yeah something a rope is tied around. My vote is a weight for a net but also a cooking stone that could be retrieved from a hide pot??

THink of it as having our protein stripped from this earthing body and reassigned to a more celestial being. Now you'll have a chance to visit and see the edge of the universe. Lucky huh?
