Western Colorado and out of the totality path. Whew !
Not a photographer by any stretch but am well protected and prolific..
Getting all protected up.
Feeling real safe in my advanced protective gear.
Clear sky and a few wispy clouds
First indication that something's wrong up there.
Something is eating the sun.
Looks like it's going nuclear, adding more tin foil to hat..
Never mind.. Nothing to see here folks.. Just the mother ship picking up me and Frank in Colorado
Now hovering over Wisconsin and the Up.. Then onto Florida and Ga.
Well glad that's over, Did leave a nice cosmic thunderegg for us..
Waiting to see all the GOOD pictures from all the Forum family..

LOL very nice! Good thing you thought of the tin foil hat - in case it was the aliens after all.
We got 82% coverage here in the Tampa Bay area. Just dark enough for the freakin' mosquitoes to think it was time to come back out from their heat of the day hiding places.
Watched it come in with a telescope, figured I didn't need to see it in reverse.
mow back to regularly scheduled program ...

Yeah always keep the hat for emergencies like this. Farmers Markets, cowboy bars and funerals. Don't want bad vibes.. Have a camera hooked to your scope? I think I have an attachment for mine but haven't messed with it since it stopped being the newest best thing a few years back. Didn't think about it. Nerdy but not that nerdy. Lots of pictures out there and everyone will glance quickly and then forget about them. The hat and glasses might leave some people with a few haunting memories and if I'm lucky some night sweats.

Forgot the tinfoil, but the walnut next door was nice enough to play pinhole camera for us. I think I have rocks that look like that...

I took a caravan of 7 people up to see the eclipse in the total band. The weatherman blew it and we had heavy cloud coverage and rain the whole time. There were people fairly close by that got a good break in the clouds but we were not fortunate. However it was still cool when over about 20 minutes you really noticed it getting darker and darker until the crickets started chirping. At the end it only took a couple of minutes to lighten up again. What I didn't expect was the sky overhead was dark but around all the edges daylight showed. DSC00503 by ngboettch, on Flickr

Well at least no one read your mind or scanned your brain during the eclipse, not that they would have been disappointed.....
