Good morning guys, I sent the box out Tuesday so it should be hitting it’s new destination by no later than Friday! I’ll have to apologize I didn’t put a cute note or anything in 😢 I don’t think a piece of paper would have fit 😂 In other words you sent on one overstuffed box! RTH members are the best of the best.

Sorry that I have been mia, life just seems to get in the way. I had both knees replaced 4 years ago January 14th, I found out 3 weeks ago that they have been recalled, what a downer, lol. Then last week I found a lump on my thyroid, I had a biopsy to see if it's cancer, still waiting on results, should hear by Tuesday. Thoughts, prayers and everything else being sent your way.

No box yet; Hopefully tomorrow.
Hope Tammy is doing okay. She's next after me, but if she doesn't check-in in the next few days, maybe we re-order the list sequence to give her more time? Thoughts?

Are you serious? I sent it last Tuesday afternoon. Let me see if I can find the tracking number hon. Praying for God’s protection and healing for Tammy.

Box has arrived! 18 lbs 2.4 oz The box is in pretty rough shape; There's a big hole on the side, but it doesn't look like anything is missing. I can have this re-boxed and ready to ship either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Here is the material that I removed I got it all started today in a 6 pound barrel. I had to add some rocks to fill up the barrel, used some that I collected in South Carolina a couple of weeks ago. alikat218 Which one is "The Panama" that you mentioned above? Guessing it is the red glassy one on the lower left corner ?

Box is packed and will be en route to meviva tomorrow. What I'm keeping. Unfortunately, the picasso marble didn't survive the journey intact. What I added. Sorry for the lousy pictures. The material looks much nicer in person. Green Theme: Clear Creek plasma agate, Turkish chrysoprase, imperial jasper, mariposite Green continued....San Benito jadeite, Indian green moss agate, vesuvianite aka idocrase aka "Pulga Jade." Mushroom rhyolite and porcelain jasper; Both from Mexico. The tumbled ones aren't included.

Alright, here's the list with the changes we've made thus far. We'll insert TByrd into the next available slot as soon as we hear from her. 1) Garage Rocker - Kentucky 2) Tommy - California 3) MsAli - California 4) fantastic5 - Tennessee 5) Wooferhound - Alabama 6) melhill1659 - Mississippi 7) ubermenehune - Nebraska ----- Yet to Go ----- 8) meviva - Arizona 9) zarguy - Utah 10) fernwood - Wisconsin 11) Luminin - Ohio TBA) TByrd - Idaho I don't want to jinx it, but I think it is safe to say that this box will finish its journey well before the year (roughly) I was thinking it was going to take! Earlier I had mentioned that I had plans for the box after it gets back to me and I think this is a good time to share my thoughts. After the box has come full circle, I'll take what I want to keep, use most of the remaining as starter for the next round and then fill a Small Flat Rate Box with some of the pieces and send it off to Tommy to auction off in support of the forum. That piece that I asked you, Tommy, to hold onto back when fantastic5 received the box from MsAli, would go into the auction if you wouldn't mind. Let's also take a moment to remember that this is a Memorial Rock Box, so please take a moment and respect/think of Mr. Don ( jakesrocks). Thanks for all the fun, information and pretties to look at so far everyone, I can't wait to see what the future holds! ~Cody

The glassy red one is the Panama-Looks like there is 2 pieces of it in you photo. It use to be one big rock Oh My Goodness that was a very pretty rock. I chipped a corner off of it and returned 90% of it to the box. In the picture it can barely be seen on the left side in the middle.

I have more that I'm sitting on to decide what to do with them.

I received the box yesterday. One corner edge was completely ripped open but the box looks full so I don’t think anything was lost. It was the corner with the velvet bags. ubermenehune do you know how many bags there were? I haven’t gone through it yet but will in the next couple of days and hopefully get it out by the end of the week. Can’t wait to go through it. Andrea

Not being picky here, or accusing anyone of anything.
Maybe there should be a sticky thread here or on the Buy/Trade Thread on how to prepare a box for shipment. Whenever I ship anything, I usually have at least two layers of tape on the surface sides, all of them. At least one layer on all corners and fold on the interior, sometimes more. A lot depends on the weight, so a SFRB, might have only one outside layer or flat surfaces, overlapped on the top and bottom.
I have a long time friend who was an assistant postmaster at an urban post office. She told me how to ensure heavy items in FRB's made it through.
I am currently using Gorilla Tape, as it is strong. Hence, only the 2-3 layers of tape for heavy boxes. Yes, I am spending at least 50 cents just for tape on everything I send, but it is worth it.
Yes, I have had boxes of items arrive, with some of the contents missing. Also some items, or all broken. Not from anyone here, but others, and never rocks. Just rare antique glass and other things.

It's just amazes me how rough the postal service is. And, here anyways, how inefficient and lazy! If not for being cheap, I would never choose them.

Andrea Hey Andrea - Mine arrived with a tear in the exact same spot. Thought it'd hold up since i put it in a new box and tried to package it intelligently. I do not recall how many velvet bags there were. Hopefully nothing is missing.

I've routinely shipped and received boxes 25 lbs+. Some arrive in great shape and others look like they've been carelessly tossed around.

I got a box from my mom and it was split almost the same way. It was taped tighter than Fort Knox. How it split open is beyond me. So cant say its bad packaging. I think a complaint should be made regardless if anything is missing.
