The description for the basic grinder says "Angle Template Kit attachment for getting 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° and 90° cuts." Does that mean the templates are included? I can't tel what they look like. Rockoonz's pictures help but I still can't picture it. I thought the table just dropped for the angles, but I could be wrong.

The angle template kit is not included, what you get for $399 plus shipping is the basic bare bones unit with the tool for changing laps. On the accessories list I got the only thing I see that would act as an angle guide is the adjustable protractor.
As far as first projects, maybe just "frame" some picture jasper. Another fairly easy project is a shadowbox if you have a small piece of optical quartz and a pretty stone that is not likely to take a good polish. Cap it then frame it in.

Would that be the thing between the nutdriver and ruler?

Would that be the thing between the nutdriver and ruler? Yes, that qualifies as a protractor or angle finder. Did he send it with yours?

You loosen a bolt, adjust angle to protractor degree you need then screw bolt back down to tighten the angle in place. I spoke with Al a few days ago. Is he not to cutes ever!!!

I GOT MY GRINDER TODAY!
There is no angle finder. I took a bunch of deboxing pics for a friend, but since Mel already posted hers, I won't. The plate that sits in front of the grinding disc is set for 90 degrees only. It does not move. Now that that is out of the way..... This thing screams quality! Very thoughtfully and well made. I'm going to start using it in the morning.

rockjunquie looks like the next step is to order whatever we need for those five various angles. I really want the 90 degree and the 45 degree. Mine grinder is due tomorrow.

Do you have a price list? I didn't see one on his website. Might have to rig up something that works for this two angles.

I think something could be rigged up easy enough. The attachment does a bunch of stuff. When I have the money to spend, I'll talk to him on the phone about it.

Did I mention that it has a Dayton motor? I don't know if he advertised it or not, but it is. I have everything ready to go in the morning. I hope I can complete my first one tomorrow.

Congratulations! So exciting! I think you'll find you're going to want a verticle piece attached to your work table thing to ensure that you're holding your work 90 degrees (in the left and right sense) from the wheel). Or maybe not - maybe it's easier to eyeball that one angle when you don't also have to eyeball the up/down direction straight as well. How long did it take to arrive since when you emailed him?

Thanks, I posted a thread on using it today. He called Mon and it arrived yesterday. It was sent priority. The postage was 38 something and I paid 40, so that's cool.

I went to his site and tried downloading the information kit?? and was not available lack of any specs like motor hp and as you have said the angle package. Does he expect you to buy first and kind of like Obama care then see what is in it? Is there a warranty? What are the wheel dimensions what are the brands I know Tella said Dayton for the motor (good quality for sure). Anxious to see what ya all think about it after using it.

I think that Al had someone build him the website quite some time ago. I assume the info kit was a PDF file of the printed stuff you get with the grinder that somehow either got corrupted or was made with a freeware PDF maker that makes a file that's incompatible with the current Adobe. When you read the descriptions it's clear that Al is strong in engineering, not so much in creative writing and sales. I may call some time to get a clear description of what the angle thing is, but it's not something I see myself using right now. Unlike Obamacare it is exactly what you see in the picture, and is a very good value at the price. It uses 6 inch laps, and other than the motor is fabricated by Al, so the Dayton motor is the only brand. I have used it for a number of small projects and it has exceeded my expectations. I will have a more detailed review after the first.
