My first trip into Idaho, way off in the distance I could see a small white rectangle that got larger and larger.  About ten miles later it was finally big enough to read: Off in the distance was another small white rectangle that ten miles later could be read. Signed "Stinker Stations" |

My first visit to the Spencer Opal Mine by "Dubious" Idaho, after digging fantastic Thundereggs filled with layers of precious and potch opal, we decided to take a road east into Wyoming.
The road was lined with huge impressive gates surrounding roads leading to very wealthy ranches.
One stood out. Two skinny polls with a chain stretched between them supporting a pine plank. burned into it were the words:

My all time favorite was the one that used to be just outside Goldfield, Nevada that read "Cemetery
________
Dump"
I guess they finally got razzed enough and split this in to two different signs separated in distance.

Heading south of US 2 around the top of Lake Michigan is a sign for a cemetery. I do not recall the name of the cemetery, but it is directly in front of a 'Dead End' sign.
