I bet it would have been fun to get a balcony view overlooking a major road and have a party!

I bet it would have been fun to get a balcony view overlooking a major road and have a party! The city fared well. Because most everyone stayed at home. And it was a 100% snow event. Ice storms are a different animal; they do cause mass havoc.

We ran into a butt ton of snow going to DC, but we didn't get any here in Va Bch. A colder 30 miles west of here received over 12 inches. I got only 7 inches. It was too warm here for the first part of the snow fall. Came down as rain till the sun dropped. About 10 years ago we got 13 inches in middle of March. Temp down to 16F. It killed wild animals. Song birds for the most part. They had nowhere to go. Poor things were everywhere after the snow melted. Devastated the plant business. My clients had stocked up with warm weather plants like from Florida. One client lost over a thousand large Japanese maples he had been growing for half a lifetime.

I love snow! Makes everything so pretty! For awhile anyways. There was about 1.5 inches of rain first, then 6-7 inches of snow Ali. Thawing yesterday finally as temp hit 60F and full sun. Now a super muddy mess lol. Nothing makes the ground wetter than thawing snow. The sky goes into some funky color tones with all that snow in the air. Most were giant wet flakes making your clothes wet. very cold Soaked 3 pairs of boot/socks/pants/gloves. 2 overcoats. If i knew it was coming I would have invited my ATV group over Fri/Sat nights. And they were off work dang it. 4 to 5 of us. We meet up to ride at various locations over the years. Would have been a once in a lifetime event. Plenty of broken bones lol.

Strange seeing you all covered in the white stuff. South is getting cold and snow while we cant even take a sled out for a ride. A few here have even pulled out there bikes. Shorts and t shirt weather is what were getting for the last few weeks, Even seen grass turning green on the sunny side of hills. Odd...

I don’t know what our record snow but I can remember that we haven’t had this much since I was a child. Ice storms yes, fluffy fun snow not so much. This Christmas season I wanted to try something different. Instead of getting a cut tree (it seamed the family was all to busy to help this year) I wanted to wrap the presents to look like the tree. Omg it’s so much harder than I expected 😂 it’s coming along but still not finished. More presents to wrap and place into position. That is my daughter Hannah Catherine and we had a good day playing in the snow!

Build ya a fire inside, warmest sort imaginable, especially if it catches fire ! No way to make a tree out of boxes.

That would have been a lot of fun. I have been expecting us to start getting snow in Kansas like we did back in the 70s. Haven't even had as much snow as you just got in a couple of years. What really gets us is the snow is drier and it drifts so you get 2 inches of snow and there are places it is 3 feet deep.
