Some of us, as much as we hate to admit it only have one barrel/bowel to work wit and there's that cross-contamination problem. When I went from 220to 600, I boraxed, scrubed with a tooth brush, boraxed again, with and without stones, just scubbed the hell out of it. Seemed to work OK. Today I was ready to go to polish but not ready to scrub like that again and I got this bright(?) idea. We had to run some errands and I knew there was a car wash between the 2 places we were going so...I pressure washed that sucker! I don't think it was that clean new. Let you know tommorrow how well it worked. I couldn't stand it and after only 10 hours in polish I had to check and theyr'e looking great ;D

Cookie, I have separate 3 lb barrels for each stage, but I only have one 15 lb barrel. I've used it for every stage and even though I've had some problems, I don't think that cross contamination has been one of them. I just clean it out really well b-4 starting another stage. I bet yours will be fine!

I don't even take my truck to the car wash! Cookie, you are too funny! The thought of taking the bowl to my vibe tumbler to the car wash would have never even entered my mind!
So, tell me how you did this. Did you make hubby hold the bowl while you washed it or did you hold it while he washed it or did you hold it at arms length in one hand and hold the sprayer thingy in the other?
When I was painting that fence, I would sometimes use the pressure washer to clean the paint roller and brush. Sure hurt when I missed the brush/roller and hit my hand!

Llana, Actualy, I took the whole vibe, set it on the ground and started spraying. I got soaked, but it was fun. My stepdaughter laughted till I thought she'd pee her pants cause it was all coming right back at me ;D. I finally got up wind and it wasn't so bad. The vibe was pretty stable but I had to chase the lid around. Hubby and Marlena washed the truck at the same time. She scrubed with the brush and he sprayed. It was all alot of fun I recomend anyone eles bring along some gogles and a rain coat, but it worked. cookie

cookie that is too funny! i use to live on a busy corner and had the sprinkler on the grass and was working in another section pulling weeds in the flower bed and a big bee got after me. seemed logical to me that if i got in the sprinkler he wouldn't follow me so i was jumping all around in the sprinkler and cars were honking, waving, smiling, laughing. when i got inside the phone was ringing from people who were still laughing that i was "playing in the sprinkler" at my age. your as young as you feel ;D.

Some of us, as much as we hate to admit it only have one barrel/bowel to work wit cookie I've got a couple barrels but definitely only one bowel, and I'm for dang sure not sticking a pressure washer up there to clean it out!! I love this idea for the barrels, though. We got a little cheapo pressure washer for our camper because it gets grungy over the winter. That pressure washer makes it look brand new. I'm trying this for sure next time I clean a barrel!

That's what I figured, I was just teasing you a little.
I've been surprised at all the uses we've found for our little pressure washer. This is a great new one. I think I might be finishing my first polish cycle tonight - that means I'll have a barrel to clean. I'll give it a go with the pressure washer and see how it works out!

I have barrels for 4 stages, but I do a total of six, so I use the fourth barrel for1000 grit, tripoli, and polish, the only stage that I use borax on is after the tripoli, that worked really good on the last set of stones I did.

My father in law has had cancerus polops removed from his colon 2 or 3 times. He's been cancer free for some time now, but it's allways a concern, he's 83. Don't think the pressure hose wil do any of us that much good, though cookie
