Interesting! Aren't there such a wondrous variety of trilobites? Some of the ones common in Wisconsin are rare or absent here in Vermont. Most common in northwestern Vermont, where I live, are Triarthrus. In fact I picked up a head of one yesterday while dog sitting. We are all covered in snow here, but down on the shore, big chunks of ice had been pushed up from the lake, and stuck to ice were some rocks, so naturally I had to go down and see. Of course I fell down in the snow, but it was worth it because I was able to pluck a little fossil out of a chunk of ice that had pushed up waist-high. Seeing that always make me think of the effect the glaciers had on the landscape.
We have some isotelus here too, not very common but I saw one a few years ago the guy was using for a doorstop! And there is a good source about 20 miles from here for cryptolithus. They are super-cool, but I've only ever found parts. "Trilo-bits" I call them.

Funny thing with the Fossil Forum... I was looking at it the other day, and I thought, oh wait, didn't I sign up for this at one time? But I can't remember my user name, let alone password, and I lost the paper I had been putting that stuff on. So I tried to sign up again, but couldn't figure it out. I have the memory of a steel sieve.
