There is a floor grill MsAli and Garage Rocker that I lift up to drop beer and food down to deer hunters when they sleep down there. One time they both got the flu so me and wife were serving them thru the floor grill hole that lets the wood stove heat up into the house. There was another couple staying here. We were laughing upstairs about poor Bob and Virgil 'the contagious ones' in the lamb cellar. One door in and one door out. 2 foot thick full circumference rock wall, no escape except that one door. I see an iron gate retrofitted to the door. To keep my company contained(drooling). Great place to preserve skin too. Potatoes for months, great root cellar. Save this post in case any deer hunters go missing in Georgia
Probably not to particular. Any flesh will do.

I must say I prefer your "Dungeon" as a rock/glass haven over a brightly painted, decal clad, hospital clean museum. I can just tell there's magic going on down in that murky mad laboratory. Dr. Frankenglass, I presume. 'Dr. Frankenglass', at your service.

Nice set up. Your cellar is more modern than mine, as I have a wood chip floor.
Glad to hear about all of the business plans in the works.

jamesp in his new dungeon shop.
Haha! Just has a Silence of the Lambs feel to it. No matter, it's functional and might just bring in that extra income you're hoping for. Mmm... Liver and fava beans, but no Chianti for me. I'll take mine with a Vodka Collins. ...

As soon as I got out of the house tools and activity requiring tools was all outside or done in open air sheds. Working under sun light. It is nice to have a work spot with climate control and out of the weather. Walls. Ceiling. A chair. 24 hour lighting. Precipitation free. Got to see photos of your place some day fernwood. You might be the first person that used a sad iron I know.(I had to look up sad iron lol) Nice being partially self sufficient. Living off the land to some degree. I was doing a rough calculation of the clay that was dug on this property and sent to clients in plant pots. The aquatic plants we grew for 30 years was dug off the property as they thrived in the native red clay. Dug with intention of leaving terraces for barns, greenhouses and mini flat fields. At least 3000 cubic yards.

Considering it an honor to be the focus of his affections lol.

Hammer drilling anchors for shelves and receptacles in the rock wall. Fortunately some giant bolts were mortared into the wall at construction 35 years ago. Finally getting put to use to hang heavy shelves on to.
Nice to have those kilns in the basement during the winter. Little one is 1500 watts, new addition is 7200 watts. This new furnace is huge compared to the little one. I can melt several 18 inch slabs on each kiln shelf. Or 300 to 400 pendants at a time but not that easy, the work begins after melting.
Maybe I need to hire a bunch of young dungeon babes to help me prepare the melts. Best check w/the wife first.
The glass fusion industry is dissolving at a high rate. The large fusion glass suppliers are going out of business. Leaving a lot of estate sales with usable glass being sold for little of nothing. Art glass jewelry is still a decent market though. A consideration for lapidary skilled folks.

fernwood. That rock wall was the beginning of the 'live off the land' attitude. A city slicker before that. I view living on this 30 acres as a refuge and heaven on earth. I am surround by 4000 acres of timberland, very secluded spot. It took several years to get used to the serenity. Such a different lifestyle. Unknown to many. Sounds as if you were raised from a child in this lifestyle. I hope you realize the value.
