Hi all. Just finished these. Agate is VERY tough to drill, especially so close to the edge. The beads are tigereye(store bought) and the stone is Brazilian agate. These are a Birthday gift for my Niece. Well, I'm off to the lake for the weekend, I wish everyone a safe and fun weekend, and remember, keep your eyes on the ground while you're out there playin'. I'll be looking for rocks in a river that feeds the lake up at my brother's place. later, Ed

Hi all. Just got back from the lake, had a wonderful time, and my Niece just loved her new earrings, and they looked great on her. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I'm ready to start my next project(after I make a necklace to match the earrings for my Niece). Hope everyone had a great weekend also.
Kim, I used a 2" eyepin to string the beads and just put an eye on the straight end to connect it all together. I bought the eyepins at Micheals Craft Stores. As far as drilling, I use a Diamond burr in my regular 8" drill press, put the stone in a shallow container of water, and use the up-down method to drill the holes. I flipped the stone over and finished the hole from the backside on these so It wouldn't chip.
