Here is a small batch of orange Sunstone that I just finished. The pictures arn't the greatest. They shin better in person. Cool stuff though. They went for 2-3 in 60/90, 1 week in 120/220, 1 week in aluminum oxide prepolish, (by Lortone) and 1 week in Cerium oxide polish. As usual, the cerium didn't work, so I put them in Titanium oxide for 3 days. That did the trick! Thank for looking!

Nice job on the sunstone james, I haven't seen this one before , but it reminds me of an old man's skin that has seen a lot of sun, those specks, looks just like it.
You can almost see the sun still shining . Great pics

Nice job, and interesting colour combination. Sort of like dalmation stone, but with orange instead of black spots.

Yeah, yeah, and the 'Windstone'. Then I think you pretty much get control of the Universe. Good Luck James. That's a lot of responsibility. Again very nice! Where did the rough come from for these?

Thanks guys! More comments than I thought I'd get for this mediocre batch. You asked, so I'll tell you. I got them from astrogallery a while back. I know, I know... www.kingsleynorth.com also has the same rough but it's more expensive.

Good Morning James, That is a good looking batch of stones, if that batch is mediocre ... I am going to have to change my standards! Great work! John

Did you bust all that material up yourself? What size tumbler are you running your 60/90 in? Thanks James! -Banjo

Thanks John. The problem with this rock is it's very fragile. The surfaces mar easily and the corners chip. This stuff is actually refered to "adventurine feldspar" sometimes. It would be better for cabbing.
Banjo, I did these with that load of moonstone I posted. I used my Thumler model B. Since they're both feldspars, I figured they'd tumble well together. As far as breaking them up, I didn't need to. They already had good, round shapes.
