This weekend I had a few projects that finished up, and here they are- Chryscocolla, from the copper mines in Miami Arizona. Burro Creek Agate I found on my rock hounding about a month ago. I didn't find as much as I would have liked to. Canyon Lake Agate, sort of a lace Agate, but I found it over at Cayon Lake, so thats what I'm calling it. This really is a difficult stone to Polish. This is about as good as I can get it I think- Leopardstone Moss Agate I got from John Sands aka. Sandsman1 And a touch of green Quartz I have a few more piles, but I don't want to be a photo hog, and besides most of it is that Red and Yellow Jasper that I've done before. Thanks for looking ;D

I use Lortone and Thumlers rotary tumblers. I have 2 Model B 15#er's for rough, and the rest are all 12, 6, 4.5 and 3 pound Lortones. Titanium Oxide is my polish of choice. But I find Tin Oxide works best on Obsidian. Most of the stuff I have I find here in Arizona someplace. But It's still great to get rocks from the rest of the RTH members, cause I get bored with the same ole piles of Jaspers and Agates I've collected. And it's too dern hot to hit the trail right now, and track down anything new.

Added the Leopardstone and Canyon Lake Agate. It's not that I have so much time really, it's just that I have been upsizing tumblers. When I see a good deal on e-Bay i'll take it then sell one of my smaller units. So when you have a bunch of 12 and 15 pound tumblers, you are bound to get a lot of polished rock. I find the trick is making sure you don't mix hardnesses in the polish, so I use 1.5 and 3 pound tumblers for the final polish.

Great job! Don't hold back on posting photos -- it is great to see what people are producing.
That leapardskin has amazing designs, and the blue and turquoise colours in the chrycocolla (sp?) are fantastic. Also, you are very fortunate to be able to find all those agates locally -- kind of like a year-round Easter-egg hunt.

Banjo, those are absolutely beautiful! The Chryscocolla is wonderful - all those vibrant colors - WOW! I love agate, so needness to say, I think those are beautiful. And, the green quartz - another beauty! The Leopardskin is really unusual and also beautiful! What can I say except you have done a bang up job and provided us with some real eye rock candy! llana

Some surfaces didn't appear as polished as the higher areas of the stone. So I don't know if it a 'hard' 'soft' issue, or a 'high' 'low' problem. But then the former could produce the latter. But I think it's a pretty stone, especially the reds. I am surprized that they polished completely different than 'Turtella Agate'. But a learning experience again springs forth.

Unlike cookie, I have no self-control. YUMMY! Even if you don't like the polish job, I still love the leopardstone.
