Looks like that takes a lot more patience than I have. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Thanks, good to get feedback, being my first chain its very challenging, I have a diamond band and ring saw they make it easier but most of the inner cuts must be made by hand with my foredom,

Sweet. I carved one in wood and gave up at the third link. If you have the patience it will be awesome. Jim

Good luck, Mick. Is the plan to cut the links loose as you work along the piece?
Confucius say . . . When I was your age, we used to do that without electricity or diamond burrs.

Oh my word. Just when I've thought I've seen it all, there you come and slap me upside the head with a new one. That is utterly amazing!
Michael, are you cutting that so the links are actually detached from each other and it will be flexible?

Thanks, this is one of the most difficult carvings I have done, the first link is the test piece, learning curve, and yes Robin all the links are free moving- real chain, I used my gryphon ring saw to cut the inner long section but it removed to much material, I will cut the rest with a 1mm straight point and my C40 band saw.

I've always wondered how stone chains were made. Impressive.
