Hi all. This is what I do with the rocks that don't have that wet look when I'm finished tumbling. I put the in the 2 top dishes of the fountain I made for my wife. Solves the wet look problem! The quartz, obsidian, and other rocks on the bottom tray will eventually make it to the tumbler, but in the meantime, I know exactly where they are. The Bonsai trees are another one of my hobbies, and actually, the two hobbies relate well with each other. oh yea, I had the pump unplugged for a couple of days, that's why there isn't much water in the pic. Hey Ed , that is an interesting combination. One way to prevent cluttering up the kitchensink.
I love it

Nice Stoner! What a great idea. Did you make the fountain? And the table?
I can't really tell from the pic but it looks like the water falls into a pool at the bottom. Does it?

love the Bonsai tress and the fountains. i was very lucky last fall to catch a bonsai chrysanthemum display, talk about hobbies that require patience!!!!! some of these had been handed down from father to son .....
there is a harmony in rocks and water and trees, very Zen, eh, grasshoppers?

Thanks everyone. The trees are a very time consuming and relaxing hobby, and I am ashamed to say that they have taken a backseat to this rock hobby. I'm working on balancing the two hobbies. llana, I made the fountain and the stand. The fountain is just the three teirs you see in the pic. The bottom bowl is actually a bird bath my daughter gave us for Xmas last year. But since we have 3 cats, my wife asked me to make a fountain instead. The other 2 bowls came from antique stores in the Ca. gold country.
Ed PS. I had to crop the pic because there are crates of rocks sitting in front of the stand right now.

Stoner, Those are awesome! My wife wants me to make her a rock fountain. I said to heck with that ... I want a rock mountain! Then I said I could make a small waterfall with it and I think I might be off the hook Excellent idea! John

Very nice. I love the tiered idea for the fountain. I have one that is just a big bowl filled with river-rock and polished stones. It doesn't make much gurgling water noise, but I imagine your three-level model would solve that problem.
Excellent trees too...junipers? cedar?
