This is the piece that was in this house when my hubby bought it, they used it as a door stop. LOL It has a few tiny splatters of paint on it but otherwise, it's just here, weighing a ton! You can see how long it is in the pic, the width of the piece is 5 inches. I'm having a hard time convincing hubby I need those tumblers, I'll never get a saw. Cher

Cher, that is gorgeous piece of pet. wood......wow, i'd be hard pressed to whack that puppy up it's so nice just the way it is.......a real natural rock to be admired in it's own right.
start small with one tumbler, hubby will get used to it....

Yeah, I don't know if I could whack this one. Guess it might just be a door stop the rest of it's life. That seems such a waste though and the curiosity of "what's inside" is hard to take.
LOL I'm hoping if I complain enough that it takes soooo long with just one tiny tumbler, he'll get tired of listening to me. "nag nag nag".

Thats a great piece of pet wood! Looks like someone cut it from a live tree. I have some that I haven't gotten to tumble yet and methinks it will be next, after seeing those pendants. Rosie, tell your hubby you can make big money with this hobby! Worked for me ;D $$

That's a really nice piece of petrified wood. If it were me, I'm pretty sure I'd be keeping it whole. You don't have to use it as a doorstop, put it on a shelf for display and admire it!

If I don't get a tumbler soon, I'll be putting it on ebay so I can get the $ to get me tumblerS. Yup, LOL I already want two tumblers. Greedy aren't I.
Thanks for all the input though, it's back in the cupboard with the dust bunnies for now.

Hello Cher,
I have seen some awesome door stops, and that would be a great one.
I know of a gentleman in Nevada that has a 28 pound piece of Grade AAA Gem Sugilite, that he uses for a door stop! It's worth thousands! I asked him why he uses it as a door stop and he said, "Crooks are not going to take a door stop! They are bound and determined that the good stuff is hidden somewhere inside, besides most of them don't have the intelligence to tell the difference between what's good and what's not anyway!"
It looks gooooooooood to me!

HalloCher,
You have a great looking doorstop there, don't smash it , you will find more smaller pieces eventualy anyway.
This one is way too cool for the smash and grab..
