Finally signed up for Photobucket. We will see how this goes! I've mentioned going to South Dakota recently and visiting our favorite rock guy, Shawn. Well folks, here's the place where we've been getting our rocks and tumblers and tootsie rolls and nice emails! And here's our guy's front yard; notice that the rock on the ground is real, real nice tumbling mix! and, of course, the great man himself, our guy who makes it all possible.... And last for this series (so I can see if this works), some of the great man's toys! More to come -- I hope. I obviously haven't mastered the fine points. Much trouble with sizing and getting them to load. Too late at night. I've modified this a zillion times. grrrrr.

Well, my comment on all this is that I found Shawn when I first started tumbling last fall, just because I randomly discovered his website. He was great to deal with, then not much after that, I discovered this message board and people were talking about this really nice dealer -- Shawn at the Rock Shed, of course. He's written me many helpful emails and answered many questions, so it was a huge kick to meet him. I had told him that he was a favorite among people on this board and that I'd be happy to put up some photos.
Shawn knows A LOT about rocks, if you ever have any questions about stuff I'd recommend him as a source. And he's been great to deal with equip and supplies, as well as rough.
If you didn't look at the "Shawn's Forest" post after this one, it has 4 shots of the most amazing pet wood collection I've ever seen!

Holy Smoke!
Thanks for sharing these photo's!
My mouth is watering and my eyes wont stop tearing up. My wife just came in and asked if everything was alright ... I pointed at the photo's and she consoled me for a minute, shook her head and then told me I was loosing it!
Thanks again!

Thanks for all the cool pics of The Rock Shed Puppies. I'd love to have the chance to get by there one day. I've talked to Shawn a few time on the phone and done some business with him. He's a great guy to deal with. Again, thanks for sharing the pics.

For everybody saying thanks, I appreciate it, no problem, I'm glad that others are interested. I'd made a purchase from Shawn and discovered that he has this wonderful practice of sending an immediate personal thank you and will correspond with any questions about supplies, equipment, rough, etc. I'd never even talked with him. The really nice thing that he did was spending so much time with me, talked about rocks and collecting sites, took us out back to see the pet wood and their operations, showed me cool and unusual rock and stuff he had come across. I hope that you will get to go there and meet him sometime too.
