I made this for my Dad today. I hope it's not too afeminate. He really likes my rocks and I picked out the ones that really caught his eye. Agin, lousy camera, but you can get the idea. img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/cooky3a/best.jpgI glued a brandy glass to the bowl for a candle votive cookie

Sands, SHHHH, I won't tell anybody if you use my idea. I think your Mom would love something like this. Wonderfull thing about most parents, if you made it, they will treasure it forever. Vases weren't doing it for me cause so many rocks went unseen, that's why I came up with this. Trust your talent Sands, youv'e got it in spades.

Hello Cookie,
Your Dad will definitely enjoy it!
The warm glow of the candle will remind him of a time when you colored pictures with crayons, to be hung on the refrigerator.
As with your pictures, this gift will be treasured for years. Great job!

that is a nice idea, Cookie, the rocks are just loose in the bowl, right? you could take out the candle and use it for a small flower display, too, or put one of those siamese fighting fish in the glass (briefly). ok, maybe not the fish thing. sea monkeys, maybe, haha.

Cookie, that's terrific! Your father will love it, what a great idea. And you're right, because you made it yourself, it will mean so much more.
Good job!

My Mom came by work today, and was telling me how she and Dad were going out to dinner tonight (at the restraunt where my hubby is chef) and that was her gift to him. Theyve been married 52 years, and she said, "What doesn't he have?". I had his gift right there (was going to go by after work) pulled it out, and said "A candle votive glued to a bowl full of polished rocks!" The look on here face was priceless. No, he dosn't have that. ;D Today is his BDay, I hope he loves it as much as I love him. Told her, don't tell him it's from you But KD and Sands, go for it! cookie
