jamesp wanted to see some of my paintings, so here is a sample. Specific story and techniques used are included. These were done between 1977 and 2000. Most have a lot of miles on them and are a little beat up.
1977 Mt Hood. A high school art class project. This is the second acrylic painting I ever did. We had to use a pallet knife for at least 25% of the painting.
Mt Hood
1978 Flambeau River at Sunset. A good friend took this photo while camping. Asked me to do a painting, but remove the lights from the dam. I used this for another art class project. We had to incorporate mixed media and at least to techniques into a painting. The bare trees and river weeds were done using India ink. To do the tall grass, I applied the purple paint. Then cut into it using an India Ink pen with a round tip. Let it dry. Then went back with the pen loaded with ink.
He felt it was too good for me to give him.

1986 Joshua Tree, AZ Sunset. I took the photo, as I was amazed at the variety of desert plants neatly growing in a row by the tree. It was like someone had a neatly trimmed hedge in the desert. Mixed media. The spines on the Joshua and the bushes are India ink.

2000 Winter Cabin. A neighbor of my Mom was admiring my paintings my Mom had on her walls. She asked me to do a painting for her of a cabin, on a lake, in winter. My Mom liked it so much, she kept it and hung on her bedroom wall. This was a quick, 2 hour painting.

Here are some mixed media, pencil/charcoal drawings I did in 2016. I usually use a combo of 3 hardnesses of both pencils and charcoal, a charcoal stick, and an art eraser for drawings.
Ms Regal Satin, one of my horses.

Sierra, my dog.

I am constantly taking photos of things that I think I can turn into paintings, drawings, greeting cards later.
Thanks for looking at another facet of my life.
