I posted a faults topic on this site a few weeks ago and had it pulled off also... Titled claim jumping.. The accuser, didn't do his homework on his claim ( " "), so he jumped the gun and now is eating crow! Always two sides to every story... Hope it works out for both of these guys and life goes on.... Sorry folks, this won't happen again with this old goat... Keep your problems to yourself or let us know the whole story....Hahahahaha

Honest mistake which was seemingly easy since you only had access to half the story. I think you handled it well, especially when others came in with some contrary information. Your reply, if I recall correctly, was not based upon picking a side. Appreciate the update, as I was curious to see how it would start to play out.

Quote".....First off I want to say that I made a grave mistake. Last week I made a post about someone jumping my claim. Though there are extenuating circumstances that led to this event it took about 5 minutes to figure out these circumstances, I went to meet my BLM geologist at my claim today. Upon pulling up, the individual I thought jumped my claim stepped out of his truck. I got out, walked straight to him and we shook hands. It was obvious we both wanted the situation resolved. Luckily it was in short order that I mentioned the individuals name who "helped" me file the claim.....seeing the look on his face spoke volumes. Long story short, we got down to business and I knew right away that I was completely in the wrong. However this guy was as stand up of a man as I ever met. We saw eye to eye immediately. Took care of boundary issues and resolved the problem. He and the gentleman he was digging for actually spent the day helping me properly locate my claim and get it ready to go. Today I met a helluva stand up man. At this point I will name him...Steve Schultz. I made a grave mistake in accusing him of jumping my claim and though we both know how and why it happened, I wish to apologize here and now to him. It is without a doubt a fact that I was wrong in doing so and though I apologized face to face, I need to do it here as well. Steve Shultz, you are a gracious, kind individual and I look forward to the friendship that was forged today and hope everyone in the market for Owyhee Blue opal buys the he'll out of your material. Thank you so very much and I look forward to working with you on future projects. I was wrong. I admit it, but this was a day that was meant to happen. Thanks again! Quote".....

And that is a stand up apology! Good to see it resolved and hopefully one day they can look back and laugh at this mix up

Better that it was able to be resolved at the field level, instead of the court level. Much less cost associated for both parties. I'm liking the fact that it appears that each party was able to walk away after a handshake. That's the way it should be.
