Major awesomeness going on there. I love rocks with character. You nailed it.

I like to cut cabs that look like I took a picture of something. There is some beautiful material that I think of as wallpaper.
For material that has a lot of scenes, the orientation of the cut is very important and a wrong cut wastes material. For some material the cut is dictated. Tahoma is seam material and to know what scene I'm going to get I need to cut across the seam. Cutting with the seam causes the scene on the face to disappear because it is very thin. Montana slabs need to be cut in the correct direction and depth to get the features in the rock to show up in a cab.

I used to gather a Lot of rocks from the Flint River here in North Alabama. But after almost 2 years of tumbling them I have discovered that they all have a colorful coating on the outside with layers, after a week of tumbling it's all gone with bland colors and lots of fractures.
Yesterday I took the 3 dogs to the river and only brought back 2 rocks. They are hard to find and they are always small but they're absolutely the greatest rocks that I can find anywhere around here.
